Anger Change
A therapeutic group for parents (mothers) who are experiencing anger and are concerned about the risk of taking it out on their child.
Often one particular child triggers their anger more than others and the anger experienced is generally misplaced and out of proportion to the child’s behaviour.
A range of activities is offered that provides each participant with the opportunity to explore their anger, where it comes from, what triggers it and why.
Looking at past and present family patterns helps them to see the origin of the anger.
This increased understanding often leads to less intense anger responses, trigger behaviours lessen and the cycle of anger is broken.
This change can be dramatic and long lasting.
Most participants report significant reduction in both the intensity and frequency of their anger toward their child.
The Anger Change groups are designed to be small, consisting of 4-5 participants. Each group runs 1 morning per week for up to 8 weeks.
An assessment interview is carried out with mother wishing to enrol in Anger Change Programmes in order to identify and clarify
