The Incredible Years

A programme to support parents enjoy the social and emotional development of their children

The Incredible Years is an extensively researched programme that has been used in many parts of the world.  It provides practical skills to build your confidence as a parent in :

• Managing your own anger and frustrations

• Dealing with specific problem behaviours such as  disobedience,  lying, TV addiction, stealing and others

• Playing with your child(ren)

• Using praise and rewards to promote good behaviour

• Communicating effectively with your child(ren)

Family Support Services delivers the The Incredible Years as a group programme in 10 weekly sessions. Daytime and evening groups are run during each school term

An assessment interview is carried out with parents wishing to enrol in The Incredible Years in order to Identify and clarify

• The issues and concerns facing the family

• The specific needs to be addressed by the programme

• How  the programme works

• Programme dates and times
